IRC: Community Engagement Coordinator – New York

Under the direction of the Director of Development & Strategic Operations, the Community Engagement Coordinator supports the successful integration of refugees, asylees, and other immigrants by leading efforts to engage community members as volunteers, conduct ongoing community outreach, and clearly communicate the IRC’s mission and purpose in the local context to external supporters. The coordinator will work to build an effective and cohesive volunteer engagement strategy based on programs needs assessment, focusing on recruiting, onboarding, and supporting community volunteers and university interns to expand local capacities. Additionally, the coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive and scalable external communications plan, including a monthly e-newsletter, regular social media engagement, website maintenance and impact reporting. Programming that harnesses the power of welcoming communities.  They collaborate with IRC staff to determine needs, coordinate community outreach, build effective relationships, and connect clients with community-based resources.
