Key Responsibilities
Objectives

Producing professional, high-quality photos and videos documenting ECRP II activities and impact.

To strengthen donor visibility through engaging and branded visual materials.

To support remote editing and preparation of multimedia products for internal and external dissemination.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the ECRP II Communications Officer (IOM South Sudan), the intern will and in close collaboration with IOM South Sudan’s Communications Team, the intern will: Ensure photos and footage respect dignity, consent, and ethical considerations.
Photography & Videography

Capture professional-quality photos during TDY missions, ensuring adherence to IOM and donor branding/visibility guidelines.

Film short videos highlighting community impact, infrastructure development, and governance activities.
Post-Production & Editing

Edit raw footage into short, engaging video clips suitable for social media, donor briefings, and events.

Select and edit photos for use in reports, factsheets, and media platforms.
-
Apply branding templates, captions, and subtitles were required.

Communications Support
-
Assist in compiling photo and video libraries, ensuring proper cataloguing and metadata.
-
Contribute to the design of visual products such as infographics, social media cards, and multimedia presentations.

Provide light writing/editing support for captions, success stories, or newsletters as needed.

Expected Deliverables

Curated photo collection from each TDY mission, ready for use in donor and public products.

At least two short, edited videos (1–3 minutes) showcasing ECRP II impact during the internship period.

One social media content package (photos, captions, short clips) tailored for the project and South Sudan channels.

Duration and Location
The internship will run for three months (with possible extension). The intern will be based in South Sudan, with regular travel to project sites as part of TDY missions.
Required Qualifications
Education
-
Enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, Multimedia Production, Film, Journalism, or a related field.

Proven photography and videography skills (portfolio or samples required).

Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
-
Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva) is an asset.
-
Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and flexibility to adapt to remote collaboration.
-

Ethical Considerations
All visual content will be produced in accordance with the IOM’s ”do no harm” principles, ensuring informed consent, dignity, and respect for all subjects. Sensitive material will be handled responsibly and in accordance with IOM and donor visibility guidelines.
Languages
Thorough knowledge of English Language both written and spoken
Travel required

- Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by his/her university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.
- IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the assignment. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
- IOM has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct that is incompatible with the aims and objectives of the United Nations and IOM, including sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority and discrimination based on gender, nationality, age, race, sexual orientation, religious or ethnic background or disabilities.
