Brewster Conservation Trust is seeking a Land Stewardship Intern to join our team May -August. The intern will work under the supervision of BCT’s Land Stewardship Director to assist in stewarding BCT properties. Working alongside BCT staff and volunteers, the intern will gain valuable professional experience with hands-on land stewardship activities, conservation principles, and working for a small non-profit organization. The intern will also have opportunities to work independently depending on experience.  Work will include a combination of being in the field and in an office setting. 

This internship is scheduled for 3 days a week for 14 weeks.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting general trail maintenance and property management requirements (mowing, weed whacking, )
  • Implementing current land management plans and assisting with baseline documentation
  • Assisting with invasive plant removal and habitat restoration projects
  • Maintaining native plant gardens and meadows
  • Working with volunteers on land stewardship projects
  • Maintaining land stewardship equipment and supplies
  • Participating BCT events such as Brewster Conservation Day
