Associate/Senior Associate (Lawyer) – EU Sanctions and Export Control/EU Litigation

The ideal candidate has knowledge and 3–5-year experience in EU sanctions and export control law, combined with a solid knowledge and experience in EU institutional law and litigation. The retained candidate will be working in a stimulating international team on complex EU regulatory matters in trade, sanctions, export controls, banking & finance law as well as on a variety of international, national and EU-level disputes.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on compliance with EU sanctions regulations and export control requirements;
- Advise and represent clients before the EU Courts and collaborating with local counsel representing clients in different EU Member States;
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs for clients;
- Stay abreast of changes in EU sanctions and export control laws and regulations;
- Collaborate with senior lawyers to provide strategic legal advice to clients.
Qualifications and experience:
- Law degree and admitted to practice law in one of EU Member States;
- 3-5 years practical experience in EU sanctions and export control law;
- Experience in litigation before national and EU courts;
- Prior experience in EU institutions (EU Commission, Council, CJEU) in the field of sanctions would be a distinct plus;
- Excellent English language skills. Additional Languages, in particular German, Dutch and/or Russian would be a distinct plus;
- Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
