Background:

Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) is an Iraqi National NGO it was established in November 2007 as an independent NGO with its main office in Tikrit city. It focuses on developing the economic sector by providing business management training courses and counseling services to entrepreneurs and potential investors, enabling them to contribute to the local economy efficiently. SEDO is considered among the most effective and qualified organizations in Iraq. It has conducted economic studies on the business environment in Iraq, identifying business opportunities and market niches for potential investors in Iraq. SEDO started humanitarian intervention in Iraq to respond to the urgent need for our beneficiaries, its work in the WASH, Livelihood, protection, Food security, and Education sectors.

Job Summary

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) Coach is responsible for providing ongoing coaching, performance support, and subject matter guidance to employees. The role focuses on improving individual and team performance by identifying skill gaps, delivering targeted coaching sessions, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to company standards, policies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions to enhance employee performance and competency.
  • Monitor employee performance through observations, quality reviews, and performance metrics.
  • Identify knowledge and performance gaps and develop individualized coaching plans.
  • Deliver constructive feedback and actionable recommendations to improve performance.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned processes, products, systems, or services.
  • Support employees in applying company policies, procedures, and best practices in daily operations.
  • Partner with Team Leaders, Managers, and Training teams to address performance improvement needs.
  • Track coaching effectiveness and monitor employee progress against established goals.
  • Document coaching sessions, action plans, and performance outcomes.
  • Assist in developing coaching guides, job aids, and performance support materials.
  • Stay current with process updates, policy changes, and industry best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional development.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an SME, Coach, Team Leader, Trainer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the organization’s products, services, processes, or operational procedures.
  • Experience in performance coaching, mentoring, or employee development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret performance data and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and performance management or Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
