We are looking for a collaborative and motivated professional with solid experience in labor relations to join the Labor Relations team within the Human Resources Department (HRD).
HRD is responsible for the administration and development of the human resources in the IDB Group. It also oversees the implementation of the “People Strategy”, building and implementing programs and methodologies in direct support of our results-based business model, and focusing on the development of the IDB Group’s talent and technical skills capacity. The Labor Relations team prevents and resolves work-related issues and grievances, provides advice to the IDB Group on employment-related actions, including staff rules and manuals, and conducts initiatives to promote institutional labor relations.

What you’ll do:

What you’ll do:
- Provide technical advice to HRD teams, HRD Management and client areas within the organization on matters related to personnel actions and the application of the corresponding staff rules.
- In close collaboration with HR Business Partners, provide technical advice for clients in matters related to the IDB Group’s conflict resolution system, including the management of grievances, the representation of the Administration in mediation processes and the coordination with other relevant offices, ensuring that cases are handled consistently with the applicable policies.
- Conduct research and draft documents on complex personnel actions, including, but not limited to, transfers, hiring, mutually agreed separation agreements and performance management, for both national and international employees.
- Provide technical input for the development of new or revised HR staff rules, guidelines and procedures.
- Apply relevant IDB Group policies and practices with a focus on organizational objectives and client business needs when making or advising on labor relations decisions.
- Conduct mutually agreed separation processes within established staff rules.
- Collaborate with other areas of HRD to ensure that initiatives are handled in accordance with the corresponding policies and procedures, providing guidance on their application.
- Work under moderate supervision.

- You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Law, Human Resources or other related discipline.
Experience:
- You have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the field of labor/ employee relations. Formal training or certifications on HR compliance, employee relations, or others is desired. Knowledge of the IDB or other international organization conflict resolution systems and policies is a plus.
Languages:
- Proficiency in English is required. Additional proficiency in another Bank language (French, Portuguese and/or Spanish) is desirable.
