Business Analyst Sr
Job Description
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in either accounting or Computer Information Systems. The Business Analyst will part of the Workday Financial Management Support team. The Business Analyst Sr will develop and deliver projects that enhance the Workday financials experience. This role will work closely with Workstream leads and Business Segment leaders to implement new features in Workday that improve the end user experience and provide value to the entire organization. This role will also assist with maintaining the structure of the Workday financial application and related product configuration. The successful candidate will complete formal Workday training.
You will receive a signing bonus of $750 after your hire date and a $1,250 bonus after completing six months of employment with the department. All bonus payments are subject to applicable payroll taxes.

Essential Duties
- Manages multiple, large initiatives/projects simultaneously across multiple functions and/or units by developing and maintaining implementation plans, managing project issues, and ensuring project tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. Defines scope and objectives and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.
- Designs technological solutions and writes requirement specifications, develops and executes test plans, and works with technical staff to coordinate the implementation and control efforts to ensure forecasted benefits are achieved and sustained.
- Facilitates decision-making by communicating across project teams and functional areas; elicits requirements using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
- Drives and challenges business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans. Applies approved project methods, standards, and processes to reduce total cost of ownership by applying best practices.
- Creates and maintains project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time requirements, establishing deadlines, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving conflicts. This includes documenting, prioritizing and tracking requests (e.g., changes, enhancements), and coordinating with the business unit or Project Manager. Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
- Acts as the single point of contact and serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external) and the IT development team through which requirements flow. Serves as liaison between the business units, technology teams, and support teams. Identifies and coordinates assignments of internal and external resources to meet project requirements.
- Assesses the effectiveness of the implementation process technologically and recommends/implements improvements as necessary. Oversees the process in a test environment, identifies potential weaknesses, and addresses, edits, or improves accordingly.
- Communicates and educates various functional areas within the IT processes (e.g., customers, technology team, user support) about administration models and standard business rules and processes that are critical to a successful client implementation.
- Translates high-level technical offerings into functional-level features for non-technical audiences; presents materials and processes in a format appropriate to the audience.
- Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivers artifacts as needed, including but not limited to, functional requirements, Writes business process documentation and File Processing Guide specific to each client.
- Defines, develops, and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, end-user test plans, and other QA assessments. Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented to meet the user’s needs.
- Creates and distributes Meeting Minutes from project team meetings and status meetings to technology team members and project management team, as needed.
- Escalates technical issues that require extensive or unique programming, modification, or operates outside of standard business practices to developers, leadership team, or project team.
- Consults with Information Security team and PeopleSoft Security team to identify and/or develop roles specific to users and coordinates security design.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND six (6) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

- Evidence of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or computing information systems preferred.
- Experience in configuring and maintaining Workday business processes, custom reports and functional modules.
- Experience with supporting a financial system application.
- Experience with project planning, testing, documentation and execution.
- Experience in providing support to end users related to a software application.
- Experience with compiling and documenting functional requirements for use by a technical developer.
- Experience creating or executing test cases related to a software application.
- Experience with project planning, testing documentation and execution.
- Experience with developing and maintaining work instructions or process guides for a software application.
- Experience completing daily routine tasks and monitoring that ensures the integrity of a software application.
Working Environment
- Position is eligible for telecommuting two days a week after initial onboarding and training has been completed.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: Computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computer/technology peripherals.
- This position receives regular review of objectives.
- Performance is measured on completion of project assignments and meeting departmental objectives.
