Position Summary:
 
The UCI Center for Clinical Research is driven to improve the health and wellness of people in Orange County and the world by providing life-saving clinical trials designed to strengthen and accelerate the pathway of discovery from the medical laboratory to the clinic. Built as an excellent clinical research program designed to serve our patients, community, investigators and partners with a high level of efficiency, integrity and quality. With hundreds of clinicians and researchers dedicated to innovating, accelerating, growing and inspiring new ways to address and treat disease. Our expertise gives us an edge in treatments and trials related to a full spectrum of conditions.
 
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced financial service professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Required:
 

  • 5 years of progressive financial administrative experience in a healthcare setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures. 
  • Thorough knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. 
  • Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. 
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. 
  • Leadership skills to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to professional and support staff.

 

Preferred:
 
• Related Master’s (MBA) preferred.
