How can you make a difference?

The WASH, Climate and Environment Section at UNICEF’s East Asia and Pacific Regional Office is seeking a national consultant to support the coordination of multicountry climate projects in the East Asia and the Pacific Region. This consultancy will be part-time with specific tasks indicated below.
 

Work assignment (remote/ home-based modality, not office-based except for days to coordinate with the rest of the team), Expected deliverable and Delivery schedule: 

Assignment 1: Analyse CO and RO programme targets, budgets and expenditures and prepare reports for different planning/reporting key dates

• Support on programme target discussion and input into Results framework

• Analyse allocations and expenditures by country office using PIDB codes, using InSight and PowerBI

• Verify information with country offices and other sections in EAPRO, and advise on corrections needed.

• Provide inputs to EAPRO to prepare project progress and utilization reports to donors or internally as requested

Expected deliverable 1:

• Dashboard of budget information.

• Inputs to the Results framework

• Quarterly updates on donor funds

Delivery schedule: 29 February, 30 April, 15 July 2024

Assignment 2: Maintain and update project schedules and events.

• Maintain overall project tracking tables, Gantt charts, and scheduling documents

• Prepare a detailed project preparation plan, and ensuring all relevant actors are providing inputs in a timely and relevant manner, and that progress on project/programme preparation is according to the designated timeline.

• Organize national consultations and workshops associated with the project/programme; develop and provide checklists and guidance to country offices to ensure that all relevant stakeholders at national level are invited to participate and assist in the preparation of agendas.

• Attend weekly team meetings in-person in Bangkok to provide updates on all project related information

• Project tracking tables

• Guidance on workshop development

Delivery schedule: 31 January, 31 March 2024

Assignment 3: Knowledge management

• Prepare and file internal documentation, strategies, programme guidance and related documents

• Search and organize external resources that are relevant for project preparation.

Expected deliverable 3: SharePoint site organized with key resources.

Delivery schedule: 31 May 2024

Duration of Contract:  15 January 2024 – 15 July 2024

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

– Advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in areas related to business administration, public administration, project management, knowledge management or a related field

– At least 3 years of professional experience in project management

– Experience using SAP and Microsoft products (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerBI)

– Experience designing and facilitating workshops and consultations

– Experience working with UNICEF and knowledge of UNICEF processes and procedures

– Based in Thailand

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
