UNDP Maldives, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is undertaking a project to construct 7 infectious health care waste management facilities across Maldives. These facilities will ensure the proper disposal of infectious waste using the best available practices in infectious waste management. Therefore, UNDP Maldives is seeking a Firm who can develop a comprehensive feasibility study to assess the overall economic and social viability of the project. The study will evaluate various factors and determine whether the project is feasible and sustainable in economic, technical and social terms.
Facilities constructed under this project shall meet the requirements of UNDP in terms of meeting the functional, safety, and environmental needs of the projects they house. UNDP constructed facilities shall be designed at the most reasonable cost in terms of combined initial and long-term expenditures, based on best life cycle costs, without compromising other project requirements, considering the following factors:
i. Energy and water conservation.
ii. Maintenance, operation, repair, and replacement costs.
iii. Foster maximum competition in bidding.
iv. Easy accessibility, serve need of End-users.
