Job Description

The successful candidates will contribute to research activities related to the “On-Site Modular Robot System with Taxonomy Tool Phase 1: Taxonomy Study and Tool for Robotic On-Site Construction” research project. The candidates shall work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PIs to conduct academic research and administrative work. Specific job activities may include:

  • Technology scan related to construction robotics
  • Focus group discussions with industry partners and collaborators on construction activities suitable for robotics
  • Video capture and analysis of construction activities to assess baseline productivity and safety
  • Simulation of construction activities based on baseline data and conduct what-if analyses
  • Liaise with collaborators and users on meetings and data collections;
  • Write research papers, reports and proposals;
  • And any other tasks required by the PI and Co-PIs.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor within the fields of civil engineering, construction management, built environment, or related field;
  • Knowledgeable in construction site activities;
  • Willing to learn, independent, team player, professional, proactive, communicative, and responsible; and
  • Strong English writing and communication skills.

Candidates with the following will be preferred (not compulsory):

  • Familiar with simulation tools such as AnyLogic or using programming language to develop simulation models;
  • Experience in conducting focus group discussion and interviews;
  • Good understanding of construction productivity and safety;
  • Experience with Zotero, EndNote, and/or Mendeley.
