A rewarding employment opportunity for a Program Coordinator, Corop Wetlands Cultural Waterscapes has become available at the Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC). We are the corporate representative of the Taungurung people. As a Registered Aboriginal Party (2009), TLaWC serves to uphold the interests of Taungurung people with respect to Culture and Country.
The Program Coordinator, Corop Wetlands Cultural Waterscapes will support activities within the TLaWC Cultural Water Program, primarily coordination of the Corop Wetlands Cultural Waterscape pilot.
The Corop wetlands complex has been identified by the Taungurung as existing within a potentially significant waterscape (a cultural landscape that is predominantly influenced by water bodies, wetlands and their flows and associated values). TLaWC seeks to transform the current individual management of the wetlands, rivers and forests by existing government land and water managers, to a landscape approach which focuses on the entire system as a whole. This position will coordinate the research and development actions and identify the institutional reforms required to enable TLaWC to progress agency and community partnerships for new culturally informed planning, governance and management arrangements for the Corop Wetlands Cultural Waterscape.

Key Duties
Support healing and caring for water Country through integrating cultural and ecological land management approaches in the development and delivery of the Corop wetlands waterscape pilot.
- Support cultural values assessments and monitoring of biocultural values on the Corop wetlands cultural waterscape.
- Coordinate engagement with the Taungurung water knowledge group Baan Ganalina in relation to the Corop Wetlands Cultural Waterscape Pilot.
- Be a key contact point for TLaWC for the Corop Wetlands Cultural Waterscape Pilot.
- Coordinate external researchers and other specialist consultants.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with Biik CLM for delivery of on ground works.
- Coordinate information flow internally across the CLM Program Managers and Directors.
- Transfer learning to other significant waterscapes such as Waring (the mid-Goulburn river), and related strategic waterscape initiatives.
- Support wider Cultural Water Program activities, including the development of the Taungurung Reading Water-Country program, the development of collaborative governance methodologies and collaborative planning methodologies in line with a cultural landscapes ( and waterscapes) approach.
- Prepare TLaWC’s input to reviews and/or development of key water policies impacting Corop and other waterscapes
