Summary of Duties:

Operating under the direction of an audit supervisor, the Auditor 2 position participates as an audit team member on financial, operating unit, financial irregularity, compliance, and special project audits. This position assists in the evaluation of the University’s system of internal controls, including automated controls. Most work is completed at or from the Pullman campus; however, out-of-town
travel to other campuses and locations within the University system may be required. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: performing detailed audit procedures and testing in accordance with audit programs, reviewing and communicating conclusions and recommendations with University managers, and performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree which includes at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting or auditing (such as accounting, finance, or comparable field) AND two or three years of professional accounting or auditing experience.

  • Must have experience with electronic information and communication systems, databases, spreadsheets and word processing, and have familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.

  • Good analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to interact independently and effectively with all levels of management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in compliance auditing, grant and contract auditing and management controls.

  • Internal auditing experience in a higher education environment.

  • Professional certification as a CPA, CIA, or CFE and/or advanced academic studies.

  • Good understanding of computers and terminology. Familiarity with applications, databases, security and system/application implementation controls.

Monthly Salary: Range 42 tendersglobal.net $3,537 – $4,723 (Step A – M) tendersglobal.net Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
