The MS in Environmental Management (MSEM) program, in the Department of Environmental Science, is looking for an experienced and creative Communication Assistant.
The Communications Assistant is responsible for developing written and audio content and implementing the MSEM communications and media plan. You will work with a Design and Media Assistant to create, curate, and monitor blog and social media content that engages different audiences in the MSEM community: current students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, and the profession. You will work closely with the MSEM staff (Program Director and Manager) and interact with faculty, students, and alumni.

Timely, organized, self-starter

Excellent writing and proofreading skills

Enthusiastically creative

Experience with social media and professional platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, blog)

Good teamwork and social skills for community interactions

Able to practice good judgment and work ethic

Knowledge of the environmental profession and MSEM Program

Audio and podcast skills are a plus
Responsibilities

In collaboration with MSEM staff, create and post weekly content on the MSEM blog and social media platforms, based on the MSEM Communications Plan.

Attend MSEM events to write content for posts

Participate in short weekly meetings with MSEM staff to pitch ideas and review content before posting.

Work with the Design & Media Assistant to create written content that highlights the MSEM program, students, courses, faculty, alumni, research, events, skills and jobs, and developments in the profession.
