About the Role

CMY are looking for an experienced multicultural youth worker to lead a preventative mental health project in partnership with CMY and headspace National, drawing on the lived experience of multicultural young people, families and communities to embed strengths-based approaches to address stigma, build cultural responsiveness and increase young people’s access to mental health supports.

  • Hours: 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE), Part Time
  • Fixed Term: until December 2026
  • Base Salary (SCHADS Level 5_ ): $ 93,860 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging

You will have

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, delivering and evaluating programs for multicultural youth
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, engaging and supporting young people as volunteers and staff, including leading training and capacity-building workshops for young people
  • Demonstrated commitment to youth participation, co-design approaches, and community development principles, with sensitivity to issues affecting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively engage with a diverse stakeholders including young people, families, partner organisations and collaborate with staff across multiple regions
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, with a capacity to be flexible and show initiative while meeting outcomes aligned with project targets, budgets and timelines
