About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Research and Industry, the Research Impact Coordinator is responsible for research income development activities and communicating our research impact to internal and external audiences. The Research Professional Services Unit is a small and high performing team, that values diversity and has practices underpinned by continuous improvement.

The position is responsible for working with academics to support them in their efforts to fund research activity. This includes the coordination and provision of high-level support for academics to develop competitive funding applications, pitches and tenders, for industry, government agencies and not for profit organisations.

The positions is also responsible for the Faculty’s research communications strategy, deploying a systematised approach to the identification and targeted promotion of impactful research activities.

The role works in collaboration with team members who coordinate income support and development programs, and central business development colleagues. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and preparing proposals alongside academics for external funding, including grants, tenders and research contracts, particularly for industry and government
  • Using prescribed budgeting and pricing approaches and general commercial acumen to enhance the quality of project establishment, delivery and commercial outcomes for the University
  • Tracking and reporting on income generation activities, submissions and successes.  

Who We Are Looking For
You should demonstrate experience coordinating and developing various research funding applications, exhibit strong editorial skills for crafting compelling business cases and communications, and possess science communication expertise for engaging general audiences. Additionally, showcase a proven ability to provide strategic guidance, work independently, contribute effectively to team activities, and manage diverse stakeholders with a focus on service excellence.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary degree combined with high level relevant experience in grants administration or an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience
  • High-level organisational skills, exercising sound judgement, initiative, diplomacy and discretion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain productive and collaborative relationships
