We are seeking an experienced Research and Evaluation Officer to join our family. Reporting to the National Manager, Research and Evaluation and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will make a significant contribution to longitudinal research and evaluation studies focussed on the educational outcomes of young people experiencing disadvantage. About our role
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the administration and conduct of research and evaluation projects
- Conducting a range of descriptive analyses on longitudinal quantitative datasets, using Stata
- Contributing to the interpretation of research and evaluation findings
- Preparing draft reports and presentations
- Developing and maintaining internal and external relationships with research and evaluation participants and stakeholders.
About you
Given the scope of this role, we are looking for a person who has demonstrated experience on research and/or evaluation projects. Ideally, you will have a solid understanding of contemporary social policy issues relating to the education of children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. You will have strong quantitative analytic skills in Stata or a similar package. You will have excellent attention to detail, be highly organised and be able to manage multiple competing priorities and tight time frames.
Our successful candidate will bring the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Proven quantitative data analytic skills
- Experience in conducting applied quantitative research and evaluation
- Experience in drafting research and evaluation materials
- High level communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills and natural ability to influence
- Capacity to work on concurrent projects
- Ideally, you’ll also have experience in conducting qualitative research or evaluation projects.
- Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children’s Check
