An exciting opportunity has been created at Bore Place for someone to support the Programme
Manager with the delivery of our citizen science and nature programme. The main
responsibilities of the role will be to lead on habitat management tasks, survey and monitoring
work, the Citizen Science programme, volunteering programmes, and the maintenance of a
community habitat and species data collection app.

This programme has been funded by DEFRA and Kent Downs National Landscape’s Farming in
Protected Landscapes programme to expand the work of Bore Place carried out by the We are
Nature Project to integrate people of all ages and abilities at the heart of our work for
biodiversity, to achieve better outcomes for wellbeing, environmental awareness/understanding
and wildlife. This project will expand the work of integrating people and nature across the
wider landscape with neighbouring farmers surrounding Bore Place.

We are seeking an experienced ecologist or conservation ranger with excellent IT skills. Good
botanical skills are desirable, as is experience of conducting hedgerow surveys and knowledge
of the DEFRA biodiversity net gain survey methodologies and assessment. You will also need a
sound understanding of Habitat/ Species Management Plans.

You should be an excellent communicator with good organisational and analytical skills, and
high standards. A love of and connection to the outdoors is key.
