Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.


Essential Functions 

      Writing and managing IACUC protocols using ARO / Training of other lab personnel on CLSI protocols /  Animal surgeries (rabbit and mouse) /  Monitoring of all enrolled animals in the study (general clinical signs, weight, temperature) /  Weights, temperatures, and pain assessment scoring /  Preparation of test articles for animal studies (proper handling, calculation of amount needed, and collection of reserve samples for testing)  /  Microbiology assays (Biofilms assays, colony forming unit analysis, media preparation) /  Biomarker testing (Erythrocyte sedimentation assay, ELISAs) /  Writing and implementation of study protocols / Recording all relevant data in accordance with study guidelines / Collection of patient clinical isolates and proper cryostorage / Recording of clinical isolate data using RedCap and other software.


Physical Effort 

The incumbent must be able to walk. The facility is in a distributed environment, and to perform the research protocols, the incumbent must be able to move around freely.
