To strengthen our Global Tax team, based in our headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: International Tax Manager.

As an International Tax Manager, you will be responsible for supporting UCB’s international business operations from strategy to implementation. You will advise the business on tax aspects of certain business transactions and the impact of the ongoing global tax reforms and other tax projects. In this international environment you will be given the opportunity to work with stakeholders from different cultures, backgrounds and experiences. You will contribute by:

  • Coordination & supporting international tax projects linking the business goals with tax requirements, managing advisors where applicable;
  • Support tax managers in the local affiliates to assure consistency between local and global operations;
  • Being involved in UCB’s ‘long range forecast’ exercise, translating the consequences of strategic choices in tax rate and cash tax effects;
  • Participate in negotiating advanced pricing agreements (APAs) and/or tax rulings;
  • Support the Belgian tax team in view of appropriately claiming R&D incentives;
  • Providing support to affiliates across the world during tax audits and assist stakeholders on tax matters.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Self-motivated team player with good communication and project management skills, that can collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders around the globe;
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration or Law. An additional master’s degree in taxation is an asset;
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience within a Big 4 firm, a large accounting firm or a multinational enterprise’s tax department;
  • A strong understanding of international tax and tax treaty principles, the ongoing OECD and EU tax reforms and transfer pricing guidelines supporting multinational business;
  • Committal towards a demanding working environment in terms of work efficiency and quality, with strong analytical skills and a critical but constructive mindset;
  • Interest and/or previous experience in R&D incentive schemes is a plus.
