A full-time postdoctoral fellow position is available in Professor Wenyi Wang’s lab, at the Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Wang’s laboratory performs research aiming to gain new knowledge in the evolution of the human genome as well as the cancer genome. These two topics are fundamental to the understanding of the initiation, progression, and treatment of human diseases. This position will perform methodological research under her long-standing program in integrative deconvolution and single-cell models to build an atlas of gene expression states of tumor and microenvironment during cancer evolution.
The position will involve a mixture of methodological and collaborative research in cancer genomics. The methodological research may include but not limited to statistical models for integrative deconvolution and machine learning methods for prognosis and therapeutic biomarker development. The collaborative research may include but not limited to software tool dissemination, cancer biology discovery, and participation in pan-cancer studies with large research consortia. This position will require writing bioinformatics methodology manuscripts, assisting or leading in writing biomedical manuscripts, developing/maintaining software packages, and other academic activities.
