Postdoc in Design, Synthesis and Development of Innovative Biomimetic 3D Cross-linked Polymers for Biomedical Applications – DTU Health Tech

Job Description
In this role, you will be at the forefront of biomimetic polymer research, focusing on screening, design, synthesis, characterization, and optimization for biomedical applications. The project centers on the development of 3D cross-linked polymer systems tailored for critical disease care applications. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with experts in the field, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to groundbreaking research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on the design, synthesis, and characterization of biomimetic polymers.
- Work on 3D cross-linked polymer systems for critical disease care applications.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and mentor students.
- Utilize various characterization techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, FTIR, TGA, DSC, Rheology, adhesion, mechanical tests, and cell and tissue culture.
- Take ownership of research projects while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- PhD degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry or related field.
- Strong theoretical and experimental background in Biopolymer Chemistry and critical disease biology.
- Demonstrated expertise in synthetic polymer chemistry.
- Knowledge of characterization techniques mentioned above.
- Experience in biomimetic polymer design and synthesis.
- Proven track record of communicating research results effectively.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 2 years.
