The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Family Partnership Coordinator to join our family. Reporting to the Team Leader and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will help manage and deliver one of our most valuable programs – Learning for Life. The role involves planning and implementing The Smith Family Scholarships and taking a strength based, family led practice approach to support stronger, educational outcomes for students.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Taking a family led practice approach to maximise school attendance and support key transitions
  • Enhancing relationships with key people in Schools to positively impact on attendance and school completion rates
  • Liaising with Schools and Principals on the progress of student Expressions of Interest to the program
  • Contacting scholarship families to inform of programs and inviting them to participate
  • Ensuring excellent database management and administration support for students
  • Sourcing students and families for media opportunities

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Proven experience in working with families taking a family partnership approach High-level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills (including computer literacy, data entry and time management)
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining relevant community partnerships
  • Hold a current driver’s licence
  • Have or willing to obtain a Working With Childrens Check before commencing role
