Qualifications
- MSc in nature conservation, zoology, or related field (will accept BSc and relevant working experience in place of MSc)
- Driver’s license and experience with manual and 4×4 driving
- Be available from March-September 2024 (with potential for extension)
- Excellent communication and be a good team player
- Experience in field-work, camping, and the African context is of high value
- Must be self-motivated and handle working remotely in extreme conditions
- Experience with data collection, GIS, and data analysis is highly beneficial
Responsibilities
- Assist management of field-based project including setting camera traps, pitfall surveys, VHF tracking and more
- Assist managing team of up to 15 pangolin rangers including scheduling, reporting, and logistics
- Conduct community outreach through engagement, awareness, and interviews
- Assist project manager with all related tasks
- Position based remotely in Namibia with travel and monthly town trips
Compensation
- Accomodation and food
- Stipend negotiable commensurate with experience
