Main purpose of the job:

 

Performing autonomously, complex / advanced installation and maintenance of electrical and other energy systems in all MSFCH facilities across the mission (offices, health structures, warehouses, etc., according to MSFCH standards and procedures, to ensure a proper functioning and maintenance of MSFCH equipment and installations.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensuring all electrical installations in MSFCH facilities comply with MSFCH standards and performing autonomously and ensuring, all necessary complex / advanced electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, according to the supervisor’s instructions. This includes, but not limited to, the following tasks:
  • Carrying out critical rehabilitation tasks and corrective maintenance interventions and the coordination and execution of required tasks as well as installation of needed electrical equipment as defined by each project. Elaborating the necessary documentation for carrying out energy installations projects (plans, list of materials, etc.)
  • Carrying out and updating the electrical installations inventory in MSFCH missions’ facilities and performing annual maintenance procedures and safety checks across facilities in the project. Executing any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.
  • Identifying local technical actors, and organizing their participation in the project (training of technical staff, establishing relations with local companies, contractors and suppliers, quotations, contracts, etc.)
  • Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSFCH electrical installations and equipment and assisting logistics department with any urgent support/advice or any relative work needed.
  • Managing the stock of consumable items related to electrical installation, repairs, and maintenance, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage.
  • Responsible for the equipment and tools (including extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining, and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
  • Keeping working area clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed and prepare needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.

 

Context Specific Accountabilities:  

 

Under the supervision of the Technical Referent/Logistics Team Leader/Hospital Facilities Manag-er/Logistics Supervisor, plan, carry out and monitor the mission’s electrical and solar activities accord-ing to MSFCH standards:

  • Ensure that the project’s electrical and solar installations comply with the level requested by the Technical Service (priority is given to the safety of personnel and equipment)
  • Track power consumption from different sites (Office; Guest houses, Hospital) and propose rational solutions to optimize costs and lower our carbon footprint.
  • Ensure the implementation of the recommendations of MSFCH’s technical referent and report faults to the line manager.
  • Monitoring and following up the Electrical codes (Emonio),Ensure all the devices is functioning and monthly report with indicators shared with the Line manager.
  • Ensure all the electrical diagram and wiring layout is up to date with any changes happening in the project. Power sizing is up to date and followed.
  • Providing training and workshop for the technical team on the MSFCH Energy standard and electrical safety set up.
  • Flexibility to move around MSFCH projects in case of any needs of electrical rehabilitation and/or upgrading the electrical setup according to the standard.
  • Ensuring the effeciency and safe usage of the equipment and tools; all electricians should comply with MSF safety standard during electrical maintenance and rehabilitation.
  • Establish and follow orders for the maintenance of electrical installations and ensure the conformity of equipment before delivery.
  • Monitor stock in order to anticipate and avoid any shortage of maintenance equipment.

 

Requirements for the role:

 

Education                 Essential Electrician diploma or recognized formal training.

Experience               Previous 2-year experience as electrician essential. Experience with NGO desirable.

Languages                Local (Arabic) and English are essential.
