About the opportunity

Do you have a deep commitment to supporting individuals in their journey toward addressing Alcohol and other Drug (AOD) behaviours and increasing awareness of associated harms?

As the Trainer for Lived Experience and Consumers, your key focus will be facilitating community based AOD programs, especially delivery of short group-based programs to people who have come in contact with the justice system.

In addition to an hourly rate (SCHADS Level 4) and superannuation, you’ll also receive a casual loading and can access salary packaging for living expenses and meals /entertainment.

We also offer a 10% discount on childcare fees at Uniting services.

About you

You love the opportunity a newly created position offers – building the team, the culture and implementing a range of training programs for consumers and people with lived experience within our Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental Health division.

You will bring with you:

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health related field
  • Extensive understanding and experience working in the Alcohol and other Drug Sector and / or Mental Health sector
  • Demonstrated experience working with consumers with alcohol and other drugs dependency in a harm minimisation framework
  • Experience designing and delivering training and/or skills development programs as well as delivering appropriate learning supports and resources
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating a range of psychoeducational groups
