Primary purpose of the role

As a Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of services to people we support across 4 accommodation facilities around the Wentworthville area to enable them to live well at home, participate in their community, and achieve their goals and live their best life. You will lead your team to deliver high standards of practice while embedding and living your passion for social inclusion for people living with disability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee service delivery and the implementation of individual clients’ NDIS plan.
  • Proactively manage and maintain effective relationships with clients, their families and other supporting stakeholders.
  • Drive workforce management and provide effective management and leadership to a group of frontline staff, including motivating, training and supporting staff to deliver exceptional care and support services to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as regulatory and funding bodies, e.g. NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission, Department of Community and Justice and Office of the Children Guardian.
  • Manage the interactions and reporting requirements of the Department Community & Justice (e.g. weekly reporting, weekly roster, supervised visits).
  • Manage quality and safeguarding responsibilities for the site and corresponding clients by ensuring staff meet NDIS practice standards requirements.
  • Effectively manage complaints, feedback, incidents, investigations and risks.
  • Embeds a culture of continuous improvement, active support and improving practices and culture to protect vulnerable clients from harm.
  • Manages employee engagement, morale, wellbeing and promotes a positive employee experience for all staff within the sites.
  • Work collaboratively with enabling functions to proactively manage the facilities, assets, financial performance and budget and Work Health and Safety.

About you

  • You are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of people with disability.
  • You have a deep understanding of complex disability, behaviour support and management.
  • You have experience and understanding of the medical and social models of care.
  • You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships.
  • You have empathy, patience and genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • You have highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • You have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Disability, Health, Nursing or other related field.
  • You have a minimum 2 years experience in managing services within the disability sector or similar organisation.
  • You have demonstrated understanding of NDIS, the principles of Active support and human rights-based approach to service delivery.
  • You have the ability to transform the performance and culture in the workplace, with a commitment to client outcomes and a positive employee experience.
  • You have proficient computer literacy skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, Client Management Systems.
  • You have the ability to understand business and financial drivers of a disability service and apply them to a supported independent living model.
