Shareteah Humanitarian Organization (SHO) is an Iraqi National NGO promoting safety & development through mine action and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE)awareness, and clearance of mines, explosives and remnants of war.to assistance for people affected by armed conflict. Founded in 2016, SHO has organized & executed programs throughout Iraq. including the provinces of Nineveh, Duhok, Kirkuk, Tikrit, Anbar, and Baghdad. It currently holds offices in Duhok and Mosul.

The Finance Assistant in coordination with the project implementation coordinator to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day financial activities of the SHO Sinjar Office, in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Finance Assistant is responsible for handling petty cash and cashiering duties, and other payment documents, carrying out banking activities if needed, maintaining financial records in an orderly manner, and assisting with other administrative and financial activities as needed.
- Update financial spreadsheets and keep an accurate daily record of all cash transactions
- Perform daily cash count to ensure the cash balance is accurate and conduct a physical cash count on a weekly basis, verified by the project implementation coordinator and support function Manager.
- Provide cash advances to staff for pre-approved procurement and review expense reports to ensure accurate reconciliation and documentation to settle advances.
- Prepare balance sheets
- Track and reconcile bank statements
- Prepare cashbook and keep monthly accurate records (soft and hard copies) of supporting financial documents.
- Check bills and invoices before payment to ensure that documents are accurate and complete, that budget coding is correctly recorded, and that policies and guidelines including specific grant/donor requirements are followed.
- Ensure that all expenses include the necessary supporting documentation and are properly coded and authorized.
- Ensure that all supporting documents of payments made, and cash received, are stamped ‘PAID’, filed properly, and kept in a secured location.
- Process tax payments and social security payments when requested by the support function manager.
- keep organized records of monthly pay slips.
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reporting to the project implementation coordinator Daily, Weekly, and monthly basis.
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits
- Any other tasks required by the line manager
