The Food Environment and Consumer Behavior (FECB) lever is seeking an Associate Researcher with substantial knowledge of value chains to assist in the implementation of a pilot related to the improvement of the coffee value chain in Honduras, among other possible projects that could arise. This person will assist with the technical activities of the project including relationships with partners, beneficiaries, and stakeholders in general. He will also contribute to the writing of technical reports and journal articles product of the research.
The person hired for this position will be based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain fluent working relations with stakeholders, partners, and collaborators.
- Assist with the management of the project in a technical way in close coordination with supervisors.
- Contribute to the timely delivery of project results and reporting, adhering to established timelines.
- Carry out and contribute to the implementation of activities following the project’s scope of work.
- Travel frequently within the country to engage partners and key stakeholders, perform field activities and training, and attend project meetings.
- Collaborate with the project manager to monitor local supply expenses and ensure alignment with work plans and budgets.
- Prepare internal reports for monitoring purposes on the status of the project and periodical reports to be.
- Submitted to the donor with findings, achievements, and advances on the project’s activities.
- Maintain regular contact and coordinate activities with different actors, beneficiary companies or communities, and groups of producers.
- Contribute effectively and proactively to address problems and propose appropriate solutions to unforeseen situations that could arise during the project.

Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in agricultural-related fields. Master’s Degree desirable.
- Demonstrated practical experience in export value chains, experience in the coffee value chain is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience doing quantitative analysis of large datasets.
- Demonstrated experience writing academic papers as well as evidence of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience working with growers, producer associations, communities, and other key groups as well as the private sector in rural and urban areas, preferably in Honduras.
- Proficiency in managing and coordinating activities with institutions from different administrative levels.
- Skilled in handling and use of virtual tools and applications.
- Excellent management of Microsoft Office package.
- Predominant language at duty station. Intermediate level of English.
