Job description
about us
At Lives Lived Well, we’ve been treating and supporting people whose lives are affected by alcohol and other drugs for over 50 years. We also support people with mental health and gambling concerns and those transitioning from correctional centres. We’re growing fast and building a reputation as a trusted, innovative provider, focused on clinical excellence… and we’d love you to be part of it. We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our Western QLD AOD team.
We are looking for a full-time AOD Counsellor Case Manager to join our team based in Longreach QLD (visit gofarout.com.au). The salary for this role is $82,543 to $101,608 (depending on experience) plus superannuation and salary packaging. For the right applicant, we are also able to offer up to $5,000 relocation assistance.
Living in Central West QLD, you’ll never be too far away with daily flights to and from Brisbane out of Longreach, and weekly flights to Townsville. You’ll be a part of a close-knit community in Longreach, offering a relaxed and easy-going lifestyle. There’s plenty of opportunity to socialise and meet people with unique events spread across the year. If you need a break from the traffic and fast-paced city lifestyle, Longreach could be the ideal change for you! This role provides a unique opportunity to explore and experience many parts of Outback QLD.
Your Opportunity
As an AOD Counsellor Case Manager with Lives Lived Well you will support a diverse range of clients – both face to face and via telephone conversations. Along with a great attitude and passion for your work, you will also have the following skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, human services, occupational therapy, or other health related disciplines – we welcome new graduates to apply!
- Excellent relationship and rapport building – this role includes networking with local providers and attending meetings and events
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; self-managing and able to prioritise your own workload
- A proactive team player – but as there is some travel involved (up to two days per week) – you will also be comfortable with autonomy and spending time on your own
- An understanding of evidence-based clinical frameworks
- A sound understanding of the professional, ethical, and legislative frameworks, including understanding and setting boundaries
- You will be required to hold a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and a valid Australian Drivers Licence.
But what matters most is that you will live and breathe our values, which means:
- You are humble, human, and full of hope
- You show up and share
- You ask: Why not? And what’s next?
- You leave a positive wake
Why Work for Lives Lived Well?
This role gives you a chance to be part of a small, engaged team. Your Team Leader also works from Longreach so you will have all the support and training you may need – we also connect regularly through Teams meetings. You can see all our benefits on our website but some of them include:
- Opportunity to work autonomously and gain valuable experience in the sector
- Use of a fully serviced fleet vehicle when you are travelling for work
- Five additional paid leave days per year to support your wellbeing and work-life balance
- Salary packaging to increase your take-home pay
- Regular clinical supervision, case conferencing and debriefings
- An employee assistance program (EAP) for you and your family, including emotional, psychological, financial counselling and wellbeing services
