We are currently seeking an experienced People and Culture (P&C) Business Partner to join our warm, professional and dedicated P&C Team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the P&C Business Partner works with the Executive and staff for allocated divisions to enable the business to deliver the corporate strategy. The focus of this role is executing the bank’s P&C plan as well as a broad remit of providing strategic HR advice to Division Executives to support structure, growth and performance across complex divisions of the bank.

This is a permanent, full-time position, based on-site at Bank Australia’s brand new, state of the art Head Office in Collingwood.

What you will be doing

  • Provide expert HR advice and recommendations to Executives, senior leaders and staff across the employment life cycle
  • Develop and maintain highly effective stakeholder relationships and establish a reputation for being a trusted advisor and business partner
  • Understand each division’s business objectives and strategy in order to think and act strategically to deliver the best HR advice and outcomes
  • Partner with the business on workforce planning and recruitment
  • Ensure individual development plans are in place and monitored for all staff, and provide structured career path planning
  • Manage a wide breadth of complex employee relations
  • Partner with managers to implement changes and support staff affected by change
  • Champion organisational culture and employee engagement initiatives
  • Champion and exhibit behaviours that create an environment that encourages staff to raise any issues or concerns
  • Work with the business to increase employee engagement
  • Participate and lead initiatives which ensure the workforce is inclusive and diverse
  • Implement reward and recognition initiatives
  • Co-ordinate periodic performance processes and oversee remuneration outcomes
  • Ensure managers understand succession planning principles and work with them to map performance and potential
  • Implement leadership development initiatives for existing and emerging leaders
  • Understand and maintain compliance requirements for the various codes of practice and legislation
  • Work with the business to ensure understanding and meeting of compliance requirements
  • Maximise participation of staff in wellness related initiatives
  • Actively manage and report OH&S, wellbeing and security issues
  • Lead projects which align with the P&C strategy including project scoping, stakeholder engagement, change plans, budget, and agreeing implementation plans
  • Support effective financial management across P&C as required.

What you will bring

  • Significant experience in business partnering, human resources roles
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate and influence at all levels
  • Ability to communicate with clarity, negotiate persuasively, listen and adapt to the audience
  • Focus on the P&C strategy and innovative approaches to people related matters
  • Ability to inspire around the bank’s purpose
  • Well-honed ability to manage risk, deal with uncertainty and build the capability of others
  • Skill dealing with multiple and shifting priorities
  • A confident and proactive approach, always lead by example
  • A positive, friendly and team-player and can-do attitude with ability to also work autonomously
  • Tertiary qualification/s in human resource management, organisational psychology, business or related field is desirable
