This is a brand new role in a refocussed Economic Development team that will work across Council taking a lead role in project delivery. Uniquely positioned to bring together your passion, project management skills and a strong desire for community outcomes, this is a role like no other where no two days will be the same. You will join a team which is at the beginning of its journey to deliver a new Council strategy that considers triple bottom line outcomes and has inclusion as a key principle in project design and delivery. About the Role

This role truly is like no other! A new Economic Development Strategy has created a renewed emphasis on how Manningham supports small business and creates functional and unique spaces within activity centres for the community to enjoy.

High levels of relationship development are a key element to success as the role becomes Manningham’s representative in the activity centres taking on responsibility for forming long term sustainable partnerships and the formation of trader groups.

This role is pivotal in bringing community and Council together by working closely to understand needs and then strategically translating this into unique and exciting projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Hold a relevant tertiary or post-graduate qualification and/or job related experience.
  • A keen understanding of small business operations and retail in a local government context.
  • Skilled in delivering place-based initiatives and activity centre place activation.
  • Strong engagement skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders to build sustainable relationships.
  • Skilled in time management with the ability to work both autonomously, and collaboratively delivering projects with positive community outcomes.
  • A commitment to excellent customer service principles.
  • A positive mindset and a desire to make a difference through continuous improvement.
