Clinical Project Coordinator – The Kirby Institute

  • Employment Type: Full time (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: 1-year Fixed Term contract
  • Remuneration:  $106351 – $115103 (based on experience) FTE + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid working, work from home and from UNSW Sydney campus)

Why Your Role Matters:

The Clinical Project Coordinator will be responsible for study coordination, site management and monitoring of clinical trials/projects and related sub-studies. All study sites are within Australia.

The role of Clinical Project Coordinator is within the HIV Epidemiology and Prevention Program and reports to Senior Clinical Project Coordinator and has no direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Graduate biomedical science qualifications or other medical qualifications including nursing or relevant public health degree, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Substantial relevant experience in the conduct of multi-centre clinical trials.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and running project team meetings.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and completing ethical and governance submissions.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and revising study related documents, including the study protocol, participant information and consent form, and manual of operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing clinical trial data and clinical trial databases (such as Medrio and REDCap Electronic Data Capture System), and research specimen collection.
  • Willing to travel locally and interstate.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with a clear understanding of the sensitivities around accessing health data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organisation, analytical and problem-solving skills with proven capacity to work independently and meet deadlines, and also work effectively as part of a research team.
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint in particular) for word processing, handling spreadsheets and preparation of presentations.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
