Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients, guests, and equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Creates best care experience when greeting and assisting all patients and visitors entering multiple areas of the hospital and clinics.
  • Safely and securely transports and assists patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair/stretcher as requested to include transport of oxygen tanks and any special equipment.
  • Ensure wheelchairs are available at each entry in a clean and working condition and accounts for and secures each by end of shift.
  • Inspects all wheelchairs on a daily basis for any needed repairs.
  • Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to/from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as requested.
  • Assists patients in and out of vehicles and escorts or transports to and from the hospital or clinic lobby, in a cordial manner and obtains service for the transportation to other locations.
  • Supports limited clerical duties such as answering phones/voice mail, and maintaining various sign out and patient transport logs.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    • Education:

    High school diploma or GED is required.

    Experience:

    One (1) year related experience is required.

    None.
