In this role you will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Community Development Program (CDP) and oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of the site. The objective of the role is to develop and lead a team which enables participants and other community members to pursue and achieve their goals.

This position is based in remote community located in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach teams within the community
  • Manage the site teams to the level required to match the outcomes of ongoing community consultation and established cultural obligations and family structures.
  • Implement locally tailored CDP Programs based on comprehensive community consultation.
  • Support participants, families, and employers to ensure successful transition of participants into the workforce and provide ongoing support.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders within ALPA communities to increase the opportunities available for CDP participants.
  • Support the case management activities of Employment Consultants and the resourcing, design and engagement activities of the Activity Coordinators.
  • Reporting in accordance with the program requirements and funding agreement.
  • Work closely with the relevant management team to build capacity, solve problems and deliver services that are appropriate for the participants.

What we look for in a desirable candidate….

  • Employment Services experience with time spent as a Team leader.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Qualification in Community Services or similar.
  • Service provision experience related to CDP.
  • Previous experience in working directly within remote Indigenous communities in a culturally sensitive manner.
