Job Purpose:
The Partnerships and Development
Associate provides administrative and
operational support to the Partnerships and Development team,
contributing to the efficiency and excellence of Vital’s new
business activity.
This is a full-time position based in our New York office,
where a hybrid, 2-day-per-week office schedule is in place. Vital
Strategies offers highly competitive compensation and comprehensive
benefits. The salary range for this position is $54,000 – $65,000
USD USD. The candidate must have authorization to work legally in
the US at the time of hire.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Opportunity sourcing and analysis –
- With guidance from manager, conduct research to identify new
funding opportunities across funding segments - Conduct background research on potential prospects, priority
funders and program areas - Support qualification of new funding prospects across all
funding segments - Track go/no go decisions for new business opportunities
Proposal Development –
- Collaborate with proposal managers to coordinate major
proposals including developing a proposal calendar, tracking
proposal requirements, and compiling and creating documentation for
submission - Copy edit and format high priority proposals
- Partner with the proposal manager and team leadership to
support the proposal submission process - Organize and maintain files for proposal document storage and
access
Partnerships and Development Systems –
- Input and maintain data in the Partnerships and Development
team’s CRM - Supports efforts to utilize Salesforce for reporting and
analytics related to development efforts - Maintain global tools to help drive development efforts and
promote cross-departmental collaboration including a global
conference calendar, key statistics on Vital Strategies’ operations
and other core documents - Support the Director of Development Operations and Systems with
initiatives to improve development systems
Administrative and Operations Support –
- Support development and finalization of presentations for
partners, funders, and other internal and external meetings - Assist the team with administrative duties: scheduling
meetings, calendar and contacts maintenance, and meeting
preparation and follow-up
Additional activities may include, but are not limited
to:
- Support efforts to coordinate Vital Strategies development
efforts at global conferences - Collaborate with the SVP, Partnerships and Development to
develop board reports and ensure timely and accurate reporting of
development efforts - Develop content for and disseminate a quarterly
organization-wide newsletter
Qualifications:
Education and Degree –
- BA/BS in a related field preferred; equivalent years of
experience in not-for-profit fundraising/business development
Skills and Abilities –
- Comfortable solving problems within area of responsibility
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to research a wide range of topics.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to effectively interact with people from a diverse
range of cultural, generational, ethnic, racial, educational, and
social backgrounds - Ability to deliver against tight deadlines with a sense of
urgency - Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Flexible, collaborative work style
- Understands project management processes.
- Willingness to work across different time zones, as
needed. - Interest in global public health a plus
Experience:
- At least three years of work experience, preferably in the
non-profit sector - Experience preparing professional presentations in
PowerPoint. - Experience providing operational and/or administrative support
to a team - Prior CRM experience. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
- Experience in supporting global travel and accommodation
logistics preferred
Working Conditions and Physical
Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a
computer. - Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times
