Leicestershire County Council and its partners at Energy Systems Catapult, the Universities
Partnership, Green Fox Energy and National Grid were recently successful with a £2.53 million
funding bid to Innovate UK from the ‘Pathfinder Places’ fund. We are looking for a Project
Officer to join this exciting project team and support the Project Manager to co-ordinate this
funding and deliver this exciting and innovative work for Leicestershire which will support Net
Zero living across the County. If you have experience of partnership working and great

About the Role

You will have excellent administrative skills to support the project manager with this fast
paced project which will be delivered along with our partners as part of Leicestershire
Collaborate to Accelerate Net zero (LCAN). You will have experience of diary management and
co-ordination of many stakeholders to ensure activities are scheduled and delivered in the most
efficient and effective manner as possible. You will support the Project Manager to co-ordinate
and deliver procurement processes to enable the delivery of defined work packages. You will
support the production of reports to a range of stakeholders including LCAN partners, the
funder, senior management and elected members. You will support the project manager to ensure
the project is delivered to the funder’s requirements and that all paperwork and financial
reporting is met. You will develop relationships with the project partners and engage with
wider stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered collaboratively. You will demonstrate
your passion for Net Zero in the delivery of this opportunity to support the LCAN Partnership
to achieve Net Zero for Leicestershire. 

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have a degree/ qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 in an appropriate subject relating
    to Business Admin or Project Management: or have significant demonstrable evidence of the
    skills & experience to deliver this role (e.g. Prince 2 training or working in a project
    environment).
  • Have sound experience in providing administrative support to a diverse and complex project
    or team, including organising, attending and producing materials for meetings; and the
    operation and maintenance of administrative systems and data. 
  • Have excellent communication skills and experience of collaborative work with multiple
    stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation and successfully manage these
    relationships to achieve project outcomes.
  • Be able to manage conflicting priorities whilst working to tight timescales to achieve
    agreed targets, working on your own initiative and as part as a committed team.
  • Be confident to work in a partnership setting, managing the inherent complexities that can
    arise whilst building relationships which are transparent and based on trust.
  • Have a good understanding of working in a project environment with an awareness of project
    processes and documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience of environmental management or climate change would be
    beneficial.
