The Role:

Oxfam {affiliate/} is looking for :

The Developmental Programs Manager will be responsible for supervising, managing, monitoring, and supporting the day-to-day operations of Oxfam’s developmental program portfolio in Ethiopia. 

In addition to the overall responsibility for development programs, the position holder will also serve as the gender justice and youth program lead, and overseeing Accountability, and Learning System (OPAL) and ensuring compliance. The role involves strategic leadership for Oxfam’s Development programs in Ethiopia. The DPM will ensure the proper implementation of program strategies and plans. 

As part of their daily management duties, the DPM will serve as the Organizational Learning Advocate, overseeing knowledge management, integration, the one-program approach, and the triple nexus approach. Reporting directly to the Programme Director, the DPD will also be a member of the Country Leadership Team.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

Experience, Knowledge & Competencies

Essential 

  • Postgraduate degree in management, international development, Gender, youth, sustainable livelihoods, humanitarian, program management, any technical expertise area for Oxfam programs, or closely related fields.
  •  A minimum of ten (8) years of experience in the field leading development in one or more challenging contexts in developing countries out of which 5 years should be supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Good understanding of development issues in general with significant knowledge and experience in one of the fields of: Gender Justice programme, Urban Programme, Youth Programme, Accountability & Governance Programme, and Sustainable Food & Climate Change Programme,
  • Good managerial skills to coordinate the Ethiopia program team to deliver on the country’s strategy objectives.
