The Natural Resources Land Stewardship Worker TEMP position provides a unique and rewarding seasonal employment opportunity for the Spring and Summer of 2024. 

Land Stewardship Workers will conduct invasive plant management and other restoration duties as needed on federal, state, county public lands, rights-of-way, and private property within Larimer County.

ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, this position:

  • Identifies noxious weeds and maps noxious weed infestations using GPS.
  • Mixes, loads, and applies herbicides in full accordance with label.
  • Operates and repairs spray equipment.
  • Keeps records and enters data into various computerized databases.
  • Provides information to public on weed law, procedures, and policies; provides direction as needed.
  • Works with volunteers.
  • Interacts with park visitors and private land owners.

We are looking for a candidate that will:

  • Have experience in vegetation management involving the handling and application of pesticides.
  • Have experience operating a truck, trailer, ATV, UTV, and spray equipment.
  • Have experience in plant biology, natural resources, physical sciences, or botany.
  • Possession or ability to obtain an appropriate valid State of Colorado Drivers License.

Qualifications All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Experience in vegetation management involving the handling and application of pesticides preferred.
  • Experience operating a truck, trailer, ATV, UTV, and spray equipment preferred.
  • Coursework in plant biology, natural resources, physical sciences, or botany preferred.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Colorado Pesticide Applicators Certified Operator’s License preferred.
