To provide quality assurance of scientific, technical and advocacy information related to health; to establish mechanisms to screen and process publications in line with WHO policies; to implement styles, standards and guidelines for the preparation and production of health information materials; and to support SEAR professional staff and Member States in the production of high-quality information materials.
Duties:
Under the direct supervision of Reports Officer and overall guidance of the Director, Programme Management, the Assistant Reports Officer:

- Edits reports, technical publications, advocacy materials and other information products. Ensures that publications and other products adhere to WHO guidelines, resolving editorial queries in consultation with originators and Reports Officer.
- Provides feasible solutions in consultation with originators/team, promoting best practices, methods, and tools for delivery of high-quality editorial output.
- Assists the Reports Officer in quality control activities and oversight of publication quality.
- Provides editorial/support to the Regional Committees and other important meetings during the year such as the High-Level Preparatory(HLP) and Regional Committee Meetings and assists in writing the draft reports of relevant meetings under directions from the Reports Officer.
- Attends to other editorial tasks as assigned by the Supervisors.
- Performs any other duty as assigned within field of competence.

- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Journalism, publishing or closely related field.
Experience

- At least two years relevant editing experience in editing of publications or journalism.
Skills:
- Excellent editorial and language skills (writing, editing, proofreading) in English; knowledge of publishing practices.

- Expert knowledge of English.
