Please note that this role is only available to undergraduate students who are eligible for the plus programme

Salary £12.21 per hour

The role is fixed for one year, with flexible working. The minimum expectation is to attend four 2.5 hour theme groups across the academic year.

Do you have a passion for making positive changes for underrepresented students? Do you want to use your voice to contribute towards meaningful change at your institution?

If so, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for undergraduate students who are interested in creating meaningful change for our under-represented students at Leeds. We want to address specific barriers they may be facing and how we can work to develop strategies to support their experience in the best way we can.

We recognize the importance of listening to the experts, the students. We want this project to be collaborative, between staff and students, with our Student Voices at the forefront.

If you’re not sure if you are eligible for the Plus Programme please contact [email protected] .

The Student Involvement Project Theme Groups involve a 2.5 hour working group. This will involve a 1 hour ‘discussion’ phase, led by the heads of our self-elected student chair or vice chair.

We will send some excerpts from Listening Room recordings ahead of time. We will then use the discussion period to reflect on the themes we believe are emerging from this content. We will then have a well-deserved break, including an optional mindfulness exercise to help manage any potentially heightened emotions.

The second half of the group will be the ‘action’ phase. The Student Involvement Officer will lead a problem solving exercise, enabling us to identify specific actions. We will label them; immediate actions, medium-term actions and long-term actions.

To be an Access and Success advisor you will need to be a Leeds Undergraduate student who is eligible for the Plus Programme  https://students.leeds.ac.uk/info/1000014/plus_programme . You will need to have;
