The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA) is working with the government and civil society to support efforts to counter organized crime, including wildlife crime and trafficking. Under the Regional Programme for South Asia (2018-Mar 2024), Sub-Programme 1 on countering transnational organized crime, and as a part of the Global Programme on Crimes that Affect the Environment (GPCAE), UNODC is implementing activities in South Asia on countering wildlife trafficking. To this end, the ROSA will be procuring patrolling equipment for the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Nepal.
The overall objective of the procurement of patrolling equipment is to build the capacity of the department for better investigation and consequently better prosecution.
