Job Overview
The Program Support Specialist for Policy Division Technical Advisory Support provides Support to the Policy Division located within the Bureau for Management, Office of Acquisition and Assistance (M/OAA). They will report to the Policy Division Chief and will provide subject matter expertise related to policy development, policy commentary, and policy implementation.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
The Policy Division Program Support Specialist (Senior) will utilize their experience, knowledge and expertise related to USAID Acquisition and Administration to:
- Develop recommended policy with little or no supervision in response to identified agency needs in a shifting geopolitical international environment in the furtherance of USAID and US foreign policy objectives.
- Analyze existing policy implementation according to regulation, law, international standards and industry best practices to provide senior leadership commentary and analysis.
- Provide assessments of policy implementation and execution, recognizing gaps and weaknesses for areas of improvement.
- Identify and address future challenges as needed.
- Provide senior leadership and appointees assessments of existing policy as required.
- Develop and present policy solutions independently or as a member of a team, and prepare executive level decision briefs in support of recommendations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field
- Ten (10) years’ professional experience in related field
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance level up to a NACI
- Previous experience and knowledge of the FAR, AIDAR, and US Government policies related to USAID Acquisition and Administration
- Possess exceptional writing and editing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record upon request
