  • Employment Type: Full – time (35 hours a week)
  • Duration: 1-Year Fixed Term
  • Remuneration: $138K – $146K base (+ 17% Superannuation and leave loading)
  • Visa: Full working rights for the duration of the contract will be required
  • Location: Kensington, Sydney (Flexible working with some onsite days required)

The Organisation

UNSW Medicine & Health   is a national leader in learning, teaching and research, with close affiliations to several of Australia’s finest hospitals, research institutes and health care organisations. With a strong presence at UNSW Kensington campus, the faculty have staff and students in teaching hospitals in Sydney as well as regional and rural areas of NSW including Albury/Wodonga, Wagga Wagga, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. 

Why this role matters  

The Medicine Program Redesign (MPR) project is undertaking a major review of the 6-year undergraduate Medicine Program; Redesigning the undergraduate medicine curriculum represents a significant opportunity for the faculty to align current offerings with industry best practice and distinguish itself as a leading health education provider; project is in high-level design and is reviewing the current curriculum and defining changes for the future.    

This position plays a key role within the project working with academic and project leads to support successful completion of the High-Level Design program of work. The role will focus on identifying and applying relevant business analysis techniques to ensure information is captured and presented to meet the requirements of the project stream through options analysis, data mapping, facilitating workshops and supporting the project leads to deliver in agreed timeframes.

Who you are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent   competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
    • Certified Practitioner in Business Analysis (IIBA or PMP) (preferred).
    • Experience within a tertiary education environment (preferred).
  • Extensive experience in end-to-end Business Analysis in large complex projects/programs with experience in agile delivery methodologies.
  • Highly skilled in business analysis, options analysis, requirements management, process mapping and design with proven ability to create documentation provide input to a range of other deliverables.
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to provide thought leadership and perspectives on solving problems.
  • Sound consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and facilitating workshops to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Strong acumen and ability to think on your feet and manage complexity combined with robust problem-solving to drive the right outcomes.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop documentation, presentations, and models, that are clear, concise, and aligned to the target audience.
