Logistics Officer

The International Potato Center (CIP) seeks an experienced Logistics Officer to plan and coordinate logistic functions across regions to contribute to and implement the organization’s global strategic procurement plan.

This position will be based in Lima, Peru.

Summary:

Results-driven Logistics Officer with Six years of experience overseeing logistics operations and managing procurement processes. Proven ability to align operations with strategic plans, artificial intelligence, and supply chain efficiency and build strong stakeholder relationships. Key responsibilities:

Logistics

• Provide senior support to global logistics operations, ensuring adherence to standard processes and alignment with the Logistics Corporate Plan.

• Supervise local and international purchasing, fostering efficient and cost-effective procurement practices.

• Build strong working relationships with global partners and senior managers to align functional objectives.

• Contribute to the development of procedures and policies for the logistics department. • Oversee personnel’s development and career path under supervision in coordination with the Logistics Senior Manager.

• Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize operational transactions for improved service levels, supply-chain efficiency, and cost reduction.

• Manage logistics suppliers, transforming them into virtual extensions of the company to enhance organizational value.

• Lead the “Homologation of Local Suppliers” initiative.Procurement

• Supervise the procurement processes for service contracts in Peru, ensuring seamless execution and optimal resource utilization.

• Innovate and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meticulously track and enhance logistics and warehouse activities, upholding a commitment to performance excellence.

• Drive the design and execution of improvements to standard global processes, fostering the dissemination of logistics best practices across the organization.

• Respond to technical queries and support requests, consistently delivering timely and accurate resolutions and unwaveringly committed to a high-standard client service mindset. Technology

• Efficiently compile comprehensive data and generate insightful reports on critical logistics elements, including supply chain management and strategic sourcing, providing valuable insights to internal clients and management.

• Stay at the forefront of industry trends, consistently monitoring significant developments, emerging opportunities, and challenges within the realm of responsibility. • Showcase a robust understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its practical applications in logistics, contributing to the organization’s technological prowess.

• Demonstrate expertise in Business Analytics, leveraging knowledge for strategic decision- making and operational optimization.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial engineering, or a related field. • At least 6 years of relevant experience in a similar position.

• Specific experience or specializations in logistics, supply chain management, artificial Intelligence, business analytics, project management, and key performance indicators. • Proficient in MS Office, especially in Excel.
