About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to lead the Environment and Heritage Team managing
biodiversity, landscape, countryside access and archaeology technical areas.

With the environment front and centre at Oxfordshire County Council and the recent changes in
statutory responsibilities for local government around biodiversity and nature recovery, this
role will have a direct impact on Oxfordshire’s environment, including natural capital,
cultural heritage and green infrastructure. The team are also responsible for developing
environmental strategies, responding to national policy changes and supporting Planning
processes.

We are looking for someone who will actively contribute to the management and improvement of
Oxfordshire’ s environment.

About you

We are looking for an inspirational leader who will support and develop a team of diverse
skills and technical work areas. Someone who has experience and expertise in at least one of
the areas within the remit of the role and the ability to contribute across the work of the
team.
