Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Education 

• Recognized high quality educator with a completed or nearly complete doctoral degree in the education field; such as: teaching, music education or equivalent.

• Masters degree in an applicable field may be considered if combined with significant relevant experience.

Experience 

• Expert knowledge and experience of course content including: e xperience teaching music in elementary/secondary schools. 

• Extensive successful experience teaching similar courses at the graduate level.

• Experience as a School Administrator, Community Leader and/or Master Teacher preferably in the Quebec education system.

• Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP) 

• Familiarity with the 12 professional competencies specified in the Ministère de l’Éducation. 

Other 

• A commitment to working with a team of committed and engage instructors 

• Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meetings minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date.

• A commitment to working collaboratively in planning and delivering the course, to achieve l’approche programme (as mandated by CAPFE) 

• Knowledge of the impact and proven record of integrating pedagogical approaches anchored in equity, diversity and inclusion

• Familiarity using myCourses, Zoom, and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learing experiences

• Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset

• Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital and pedagogical teaching and learning tools

Other information:

• Contract Start Date: 1 week before course start date.

• Contract End Date: 2 weeks after course end date.
