Position Summary

This position is designed to provide overall clinic staff support to the Accelerated Dental Clinical (ADC) Program. This individual must be adept in all areas of clinical dentistry. Responsibilities will include the following: assigning and scheduling patients for each provider, verifying effective use of the electronic health record, proper chart documentation, proper coding for treatment provided, and provide counseling and information related to patient finance to patients and students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all clinical activity with the ADC program. This entails assigning patients to individual providers, scheduling and confirming patient appointments, maintain the overall schedule for the program verifying provider clinic schedule accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verifying accuracy and completeness of the electronic health record including consent forms, EHR forms, approved treatment plans, treatment codes and progress notes.
  • Act as the liaison between the patient and provider addressing any patient concerns as appropriate or direction the patient to the appropriate individual as necessary.
  • Communicate with patient via telephone, e-mail, or mail as necessary. Prepare a variety of letters to communicate specific information to patients on behalf of the provider, program, or school.
  • Interact with the ADC Program Director and Appointment/Receptionist Supervisor as needed to ensure an efficient and productive clinical operation.
  • Assures all necessary consents, consults, and signatures have been obtained before treatment is rendered.
  • Assures necessary co-payment/payment has been received prior to treatment and proper insurance billing procedures are completed.
  • 8. Review Patient financial obligations related to approved treatment plans with all patients. Assure patients have a clear understanding of their insurance coverage as it relates to their treatment plan and a clear understanding of patient payment obligations.
  • Assist in assuring patient meets their financial obligations by reviewing patient account balances prior to treatment.
  • Accepting and posting patient payments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Thorough knowledge of dental procedures
    • Organizational skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong Problem-solving skills

    Physical Requirements

    Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).

    Work Environment

    Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.

    Salary/Pay Information

    Commensurate with experience

    Anticipated Schedule

    Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
