Job Description:

Handle hiring of SNAP drivers and dispatchers, managing workforce size/needs, driver training and certification, uniforms, quarterly employee evaluations, etc.

Manage scheduling of drivers and dispatchers to maximize fleet capacity, efficiency and service..

Continually analyze and identify fleet and ridership statistics and trends ((fleet camera footage, SNAP Spare app information, etc.) to determine best operational practices and areas for improvement within SNAP. Also continually analyze policies, procedures, software, fleet management, driver scheduling, equipment etc. for potential improvements and efficiency increases.

Manage SNAP vehicle fleet and equipment, including scheduled maintenance, security, cleaning, radio/tablet updates, replacements, etc.

Track operational data, ridership and fleet statistics, etc. and prepare weekly/monthly/yearly reports explaining and outlining this data for administrative use. Create and implement new training programs, documentation, and policies as requested by TAPS administration and maintain and improve existing programs, documentation and policies. Work with TAPS administration in planning sessions to set short- and long-term goals for SNAP service and evaluate performance of current goals.

Occasional driving duties for para-transit and regular service as needed, based on available staffing levels.

Drives a state vehicle that requires a valid driver license.

Regular work schedule is 6:00PM to 3:00AM – 5 nights per week.
Days of the work week may vary per position need and as directed by supervisors.

A criminal background and post-offer health assessment will be conducted.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary  $19.35 – $21.50 hourly based on experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: • Previous supervisory experience is strongly desired but exceptions can be considered.
• A bachelor’s degree in relevant areas such as Urban Planning, Civil Engineering/Transportation,
Architecture, Business Management would be desired but exceptions can be considered.
• Additional licenses and certificates would be advantageous.
• Supervisory experience in areas of fleet management or mass transit preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A/B/C with passenger (P) endorsement would be preferred but not required.
• Ability to develop schedules, concepts and programs fully and see them to successful completion.
• Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with members of a widely diverse campus community.
• Analytical, management, and communications skills required for the development and implementation of policies and programs.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task in order to handle multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, results-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office and the use of computerized spreadsheet applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and successfully plan employee and fleet scheduling, manage multiple projects simultaneously, balance priorities, and work in rapidly changing situations to meet deadlines in a customer focused environment.
