Facility Asset Manager

BYU Physical Facilities offers a unique opportunity to be engaged in managing and maintaining the buildings and grounds of BYU campus, having an impact on thousands of students every day.  BYU’s Asset Management system and database is unique, and one core piece to guide the many decisions made in Physical Facilities. Our goal is to help you build a range of skills and advance in your career while supporting our mission. 

What you’ll do in this position: 

  • Direct capital budget and cashflow projection processes
  • Direct asset database verification
  • Direct and monitor asset management processes and procedures
  • Direct Annual Risk Management Assessment
  • Manage CES CNA Center, including up to five student database assistants
  • Provide training and coaching to CES-CNA Center staff and users
  • Provide and support an atmosphere of continuous improvement
  • Assist in current database and software migration
  • Assist in Utility telemetry and billing processes

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably in Information Systems or Engineering) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to teach and train facilities management to full-time employees 
  • Adept with spreadsheets, macros, database structures and programming, internet concepts, and general computer systems
  • Understanding of Accounting principles and financial terminology
  • Understanding of construction and maintenance processes and techniques
  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be prompt and accurate with detailed time critical work

Preferred

  • Strong background in statistics and numerical analysis
  • Drafting and use of CAD
  • Familiarity with the BYU campus and utilities
